Year 3

We have been learning about the Epiphany and the special journey of the Shpeherds. We have also made promises to God for the New Year.

We learnt how to say popular Christmas words in French.

We had a special assembly about how important it is to recycle.

Apprentice Week

This week we have been working as entrepreneurs. We have researched our product, brainstormed ideas, researched our competitiors, compared prices with different supermarkets, written persuasive posters and made our own jam to sell! We even designed our own jam jars.

We have been learning all about rats for our English Lessons. We created an advert for a rat catcher looking at the qualities you need to catch rats. This is linked to our Pied Piper Of Hamelin book. Do you think you would be up for the challenge?

We had a great day for Children In Need. We had a live session with Joe Wicks! He asked quiz questions while we worked out with him.

For Remembrance Day, we wrote prayers of thanks to those that have served and are stilling serving in times of conflict. We created artwork of poppies exploring tone and shade and wrote acrostic poems about poppies and remembrance.

This week, we were treated to a skipping workshop where we developed our skipping skills. Last year, we all learnt how to skip, now we are building on those skills and learning how to power skip and double dutch skip.

This week, we have started to read a new book called Flotsam. Flotsam is about the things people lose out at sea. We have been trying to decide who different pieces of Flotsam might belong to. Do they belong to a pirate? Or is it a fisherman? What is the stroy behind these lost pieces? Are their owners looking for them?

This week, we have been learing all about the difficult choices people in the Stone Age had to make to survive. We had to choose between life and death and hunting and starvation for our hunters and farmers.
