Autumn Two

W.B 13.12.21

During our last week we have had a lot of fun building freestanding structures in DT, creating Bambinelli’s for the third Sunday of Advent, we celebrated Madiva’s birthday, had a fantastic trip to the cinema and we were very excited when Santa came to visit us!

Apprentice Week

This week, we have been designing, advertising, creating and selling our own Christmas product. We also used our Maths skills to find the total cost to make each decoration. We had a lot of fun designing and creating our decorations and loved creating our own product to sell to our friends and family!

W.b 29.11.21

We started the week off exploring the snow and having lots of fun making different things with the snow. We found out that the weather in the Polar Regions is much colder than the weather in England and we realised how cold the explorers must have been after spending some time outside in the snow!
We have also been developing our knowledge of different shapes this week, naming, drawing and sorting 2D and 3D shapes.

W.b 22.11.21

This week, we have been ordering groups of objects and numbers in Maths, learning how to log on to a computer in ICT, exploring our five senses in Science and identifying different actions and objects that help us pray in RE.

Children in Need

Today we raised money for Children in Need by coming to school in our pyjamas or non-school uniform and donating some money. We learnt where this money will go, who it will help and why it is important to help raise money for this charity.

W.B 8.11.21

We have been busy learning lots of new things this week and developing our skills:

  • Skipping workshop
  • Comparing calculations and working systematically in Maths to solve problems
  • Learning about Remembrance Day, Captain Tom Moore and making Poppies to use during our collective worship
  • Identifying and labelling the parts of the human body

W.B 1.11.21

We have had a fantastic first week back at school exploring our new text ‘The Cloudspotter’. We used the clues to predict what the story might be about, used a story map to retell the story verbally, discussed the characters feelings throughout the story using the text and images and took on the role of the boy in the story to ask and answer questions.
We have also been developing our music skills by listening to the sounds all around us. Next, we identified how many different sounds we could make using our hands and we finished the week by creating a piece of music using only the sounds our hands make.
